Welcome to Leicester Foster Care Association
The Leicester Foster Care Association is YOUR organisation – set up by Leicester foster carers to help and support carers 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Here you can find other carers, who can:
- Listen to you – Your concerns and worries, ideas or problems or
who will listen, if you just want a chat or a sympathetic ear; - Care and Act for you – Support you, help you, advise you and to
represent you if that’s what you want; - Promote your worth, knowledge, expertise and professionalism;
- Act for you in partnership with other carers, Leicester City
Council, Independent Advisors, the Fostering Network and other
fostering organisations.
Contact the L.F.C.A. if you are worried about:
- Complaints or allegations made about you.
- Communication difficulties with Social Workers.
- If you feel you are not being listened to.
- Child Care Issues.
- Coping with difficult behaviors.
- Representation at Meetings.

| Dates of Meetings. ALL FOSTER CARERS ARE WELCOME PLEASE COME ALONG. Thursday 23rd February at 10:30am. All meetings are at 10.30am till 12pm, unless stated and held at the Fostering office, 11, friar Lane,Leicester. We are always looking for NEW members. | As you will of heard on the news and in the news papers, a new Charter for Foster Carers was put into force from April 2011. This is a great acheivement in establishing a better postive position for ALL foster carers, not only here in Leicestershire, but all over the UK.The charter is being out into place, to help foster carers get a better deal, the principles are to give foster carers information on what support they should receive and what to expect. |
| L.F.C.A. – PLAY & STAY
We would like to thank ALL of you who are making our L.F.C.A. PLAY & STAY Group such a SUCCESS! This is on MONDAY’S 10am till 12pm – Held at the Kingfisher Club, Saffron Lane, Leicester. Please keep attending and make us an even BIGGER SUCCESS!! Please come along let the kiddies play with the fantastic toys, while you can have a cup of tea and a chat with other foster carers. We look forward to seeing you there.
CALLING FOSTER CARER’S THE L.F.C.A. NEED YOU! We are looking for more volunteers who can help and join the L.F.C.A. Committee. Could you give a couple of hours a month to attend our monthly meeting? Are you Interested in the way Foster Carer’s are treated and Can you give over your ideas and listen to others? Being a foster carer yourself, you KNOW all the pro’s and con’s, and understand how other foster carers can feel at times, you will learn from the L.F.C.A. as all of our members have, that the L.F.C.A. is a vital source of help and information and we are there to help foster carers, like yourself. So if you feel you could help, we are not asking anything more than coming to our meeting and just being part of our friendly team. SUPPORT FROM THE LORD MAYOR OF LEICESTER On the 23rd of September 2011 the L.F.C.A. received a letter from The Right Worshipful the Lord Mayor of Leicester Councillor Robert Wann. He expressed his support and to help recognise the hard work that foster carers provide to young people, who can at times be challenging, but able to provide a stable and safe home for them. Allegations
Becoming the subject of an Allegation is always stressful. Foster Families should be provided with INDEPENDENT support at this time, and we, at L.F.C.A. are here to offer 24hr support, by means of support and advise.
